  • Sept. 8, 2001 Tucson, Ariz. Saying the attack was meant "as a warning to corporations worldwide," the ALF and ELF claimed joint credit for the $500,000 arson of a McDonald's restaurant.

  • July 4, 2001 Detroit, Mich. The ELF torched an executive office of logging giant Weyerhauser to protest the company's part in funding Oregon State University and the University of Washington's poplar and cottonwood genetic engineering research.

  • July 2001 Cowlitz County, Wash. The ELF claimed responsibility for spiking hundreds of trees slated for a timber sale in the Cowlitz Valley.

  • June 18, 2001 - Moscow, Idaho. The Earth Liberation Front claims responsibility for sabotaging the University of Idaho biotechnology building in opposition to genetic engineering on June 10, 2001. This is the second strike by the ELF at the new biotech building.

  • June 13, 2001 Long Island. New York. - Joint action by the Animal Liberation Front and the Earth Liberation Front, involved attacks on five Bank of New York buildings on Long Island. The underground activists claim to have glued locks and ATM machines, spray painted slogans on all the branches, and smashed over 25 windows at BNY office in Farmingdale.

  • MAY 21, 2001 Seattle, Wash. ELF burns an office and a fleet of 13 trucks at Jefferson Poplar Farms in Clatskanie, Oregon. The ELF simultaneously burned down the office of Toby Bradshaw at the University of Washington. Total damages for both sites exceeded $5 million. This marks the first time in North American history that the ELF has targeted two separate locations in differing states at the same time.

  • April 15, 2001 Portland, Ore. The ELF set fire to cement trucks at Ross Island Sand & Gravel using time-delayed fuses causing $210,000.

  • April 4, 2001 Albertville, Minn. Attempted arson at a Nike Outlet store in the town of Albertville, Minnesota. This action by the E.L.F. specifically targeted Nike due to the corporation's use of sweatshop labor overseas and it's role in globalization.

  • March 2, 2001 Douglas County, Ore. The ELF claimed responsibility for spiking trees at the Umpqua National Forest to prevent a timber sale.

  • Feb. 20, 2001 Visalia, Calif. The ELF claims fire at a research cotton gin owned by Delta & Pine Land, a firm accused of ties to Monsanto's genetically engineered seed program. Damages estimated at $700,000.

  • Jan. 23, 2001 Lousiville, Kentucky.
    ELF STRIKES IN LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY - Communique ELF uses direct action to counter urban sprawl in Louisville, Kentucky . Five windows were broken, and 18 vandalised, causing upwards of $800 in damages in the first wave of attacks against corporate sprawl in Louisville, Kentucky. The damage affected two nearly finished buildings including a PNC Bank. The once beautiful farmlands of Eastern Jefferson County, KY are being destroyed by earth rapers at the expense of corporate profit. This was the first, be it minor, direct action attempt to the sprawl. It will be a long fought battle and more actions are planned in the future. Louisville ELF!
  • January 1, 2001. Glendale, OR. The Earth Liberation Front (E.L.F.) has officially claimed responsibility for burning down the Superior Lumber Company offices in Glendale. This latest action by the E.L.F. caused at least $400,000 in damages.
