January 13, 2004 - There were 75 illegal direct actions taken in North America in 2003, an increase of 8% over claimed illegal direct actions taken in 2002. Press Release: Three Plead Guilty to ELF Actions -Richmond, Virgina
January 12, 2004 - The ELF Press Office has learned that three self-identified members of the Earth Liberation Front have plead guilty to charges of conspiracy to destroy by fire vehicles and property used in interstate commerce as a result of ELF-claimed actions that took place in and around Richmond, Virginia in 2002. Adam Blackwell, Aaron Linas, and John Wade plead guilty to the charges separately on December 18, January 7, and January 12th.

Sept 23, 2003 - The Earth Liberation Front Press Office has received a communique from the Earth Liberation Front claiming they left incendiary devices at a pumping station supplying a water bottling plant owned by Nestle Waters North America (formerly known as the Perrier Group of America) in Mecosta County, Michigan. According to news reports, these incendiaries failed to ignite and were removed from the station without incident.

ELF STRIKES AGAINST URBAN SPRAWL IN SAN DIEGO: FOUR HOUSES BURNED TO THE GROUND IN ACTION AGAINST "DEVELOPMENT DESTRUCTION"
Sept 19, 2003 - Through media reports, the ELF Press Office has been made aware of an Earth Liberation Front action against urban sprawl in the early morning hours of September 19, 2003. Although the ELF Press Office has received no communications about this actions from the persons responsible, a banner found at the site of the fires reading "Development destruction. Stop raping nature. The ELFs are angry," indicates a claim of responsibility by ELF activists.

ARREST AND RELEASE OF JOSH CONNOLE
Sept 16, 2003 - On September 12th Josh Connole, a known environmentalist and peace activist, was arrested by the FBI. Josh was accused by the FBI of involvement with the ELF-claimed fire and vandalism of SUV dealerships in West Covina, California on August 22nd, which resulted in over a million dollars in damages. On September 15th, Connole was released without charges due to a lack of evidence to make the case against him.

August 30, 2003 - In the largest act of environmental sabotage in US history, the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) has accepted responsibility for a $50 million fire in San Diego, California, that destroyed an unfinished five-story condominium complex on August 1. The complex is owned by Garden Communities, the second largest developer in Southern California. Nationwide, Garden Communities owns more than 40,000 apartments and 25 million square feet of commercial space.

ELF ISSUES STATEMENT ON ANTI-SPRAWL ACTION IN MACOMB COUNTY MICHIGAN
July 02,2003 - The Earth Liberation Front Press Office has received an anonymous communique from the Earth Liberation Front claiming responsibility for two fires that took place on the night of June 4th, 2003 in Macomb County, Michigan. The anti-sprawl action targeted two homes nearing completion in the Willow Ridge development and resulted in $700,000 in damages. Graffiti left at the site read "ELF - Stop Sprawl", indicating that the action was in fact taken by the ELF.

Construction vehicles and a show home were damaged by "long-time residents of Philadelphia... who are tired of seeing the earth destroyed for money".

ELF TORCHES SUVS IN ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA
January 02, 2003 - The Earth Liberation Front has taken credit for its first action of 2003 with the destruction of several SUVS at a Pennsylvania auto dealership. A communique, received by the ELF Press Office, Thursday, claimed an attack on SUVs at the Bob Ferrando Ford Lincoln Mercury Dealership in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Fact Sheet: ELF Actions in Richmond, Virginia
Nov 27, 2002 - Recent actions by the Earth Liberation Front in Virginia targeting sport utility vehicles have prompted a number of media and public inquiries. Since July 2002 close to 40 gas-guzzling SUVs have been treated with glass-etching cream, had their tires slashed or have been otherwise damaged in the Richmond area. There is not a total estimate of damages available at this time, although damage to just two of the vehicles was priced at $15,000.

Although the ELF Press Office has not received a communique from the cell operating in the area, graffiti and notes left at targets are legitimate claims of responsibility and indicate the Earth Liberation Front is involved in these actions.

Sept 03, 2002 - The Earth Liberation Front is claiming responsibility for the 8/11/02 arson attack on the United States Forest Service Northeast Research Station in Irvine, Pennsylvania.

The laboratory was set ablaze during the early morning hours, causing over $700,000 damage, and destroying part of 70 years worth of research. ELF Action Against BLM Wild Horse Facility
Nov. 5, 2001 - SUSANVILLE, CALIFORNIA - The ELF has taken credit in a communique for the setting of timed incendiary devices at the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Litchfield Wild Horse and Burro Facility on October 15th. The resulting fire caused approximately $85,000 in damages when a barn was burnt to the ground. In addition, the group cut through four 60-foot sections of wooden fence on corrals holding more than 200 wild horses in an attempt to liberate them from the BLM.
