ELF TORCHES LUMBERYARD IN WEST JORDAN, UTAH - $1.5 MILLION IN DAMAGES
For Immediate Release
The ELF Press Office has been informed of a claim of responsibility
in a
fire in West Jordan, Utah on June 14th, 2004.
The fire targeted Stock Building Supply and caused $1.5 million in
damages.
A communique received by fax by a local news outlet read:
"Stock Building Supply in WJ, Utah was targeted because it has
ignored
several warnings to repair their forklifts. the forklifts in which they
operate every day put out far more pollutants than average disesel
engines.
They are destroying the ozone and posing a serious health risk to
nearby
humans and living animals. if the consequences of early monday morning
are what it takes to bring their negligence to the attention of the
media and the people of the world, then it is well worth it and we will
continue in our mission to stop large companies from destroying the
environment.
If you build it we will burn it! stop destroying mother earth."
Graffiti left at the scene as well as the faxed communique are
considered a legitimate claim of responsibility by the Earth LIberation
Front. This is the fourth action claimed by the ELF since the start of
2004.
The Earth Liberation Front is an international underground
organization
that uses direct action in the form of economic sabotage to stop the
destruction of the natural environment. Since 1997, the ELF in North
America has caused over $100 million in damages to entities who profit
from the destruction of life and the planet.
The Earth Liberation Front Press Office is an autonomous entity that
serves to publicize news and actions of the ELF, as reported through
news media or by anonymous communications from the individuals involved
in activities.
